Course Information
Egwani Farms is a family-run golf course
which opened in 1991. It was the dream of Ernest Koella, Jr. to provide
the Knoxville area with a top-notch public golf facility. He wanted not
only the best maintained course, but also the best total golf
experience. To him, that meant friendly service, a round of 4 hours and
an ice cold beer. Today, carrying on his dream is his daughter Lisa,
who grew up on the Egwani property when it was still a farm.
The name "Egwani" is Cherokee for "little
river." The Little River borders Egwani for 1.5 miles. This river bottom
was once a summer fishing village for the Cherokee.
Eric Rebmann, a
PGA Teaching Professional, has been a vital member of the Egwani family
since 1992. This year, Eric was named "Tennessee PGA Teacher of the
Year." Eric was a David Leadbetter teaching associate, a Runner-Up to
Billy Mayfair in the U.S. Amateur and a participant in the 1988 Masters.
Donald LeQuire is
another key member of the Egwani family. Donnie has been our Greens
Superintendent since 1998. He and his crew do an excellent job of
keeping the course green and in excellent condition year-round.
William H. Roy
III, otherwise known as Trey, joined the Egwani Family in July of 2006
as our Clubhouse Manager and Assistant Pro. He oversees our friendly
staff.
